Orthopedic Assistant, NorthStar (UHN) - (Akron, OH)

Position located in Akron, but travel to Wadswoth on Wednesday morning is required. Applies orthopedic treatment items/technologies to patients upon the order of a physician. Assists in the care of the orthopedic patient, including care of fractures, casting and suture removals. Assists with minor office procedures. Schedules surgeries. 1. Education and Training Must meet 1 of the requirements below: 1. Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program; certification is required within 90 days of hire. 2. Graduate of an Orthopedic Technology program. 3. Associates degree in a directly related Allied Health field of study (Surgical Technology, LPN, etc.) 2. Experience Two (2) to 4 (4) years experience wanted. 3. Other Skills, Competencies and Requirements Medical terminology required Must have and maintain technical technical skills BLS required. 4.
