Biology Scientist (In Vitro) II - (Encinitas, CA)

Position overview: The Biochemistry and Cell Screening group in the Oncology Research Unit is seeking a temporary Research Associate Scientist. The applicant will be involved in the performance of routine cell-based assays under the direction and supervision of a Senior Scientist for the testing of small molecule compounds. After completing experiments, analysis and publication of data is required using company-based software plus accurate maintenance of a laboratory notebook. In addition, the applicant will be growing and maintaining multiple cell lines, diluting compounds, making buffers and reagents, checking inventories and ordering lab supplies. Position qualifications: Applicant must have strong work ethic, high self-motivation, goal-oriented, good recordkeeping skills, and the ability to work as part of a team Strong laboratory skills, general knowledge of sterile technique and tissue culture required Ability in variety of cell-based assays with hands-on skills in ELISA assay/screen
