Job overview JOB DESCRIPTION Summary The design drafter translates the ideas, rough sketches and specifications into detailed drawings and installation prints and bills of materials which are used in the fabrication, assembly and installation of company products prepares detailed drawings of metal fabrication and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by customer. Work directly with customers and project manager to produce drawings from sketches, existing drawings and electronic photos. Design parts based on written and verbal descriptions from customers. Collaborate closely with all departments in the plant to ensure that the drawings convey the correct info and are error free. Work from customer drawings, company drawings, government drawings or specifications. Create documentation of both 2D, 3D and CAD parts for industrial fabrication.
