Laboratory Assistant/ Phlebotomist - (Hillsboro, OR)

The role of Laboratory Assistant encompasses many areas of the laboratory. Laboratory Assistants perform phlebotomy and drug screen collections; receive and process specimens; occasionally perform some technical procedures under direct supervision; access details in computer, register patients, order tests and perform charting functions. They play a key role in the pre-analytic and post-analytic process of specimen testing. a) Education: High-school degree or equivalent required. b) Certificate of completion from Lab Assistant, Phlebotomy, MA or CNA accredited program or 1 year related skills desired. c) License: None required, although ASCP or NCA Phlebotomy certificate preferred. d) Must be able to speak, read and write conversational English. e) Background in phlebotomy, processing preferred. f) Microsoft word processing background helpful. g) Typing and previous computer use required.
