Position title: Machinist Position summary: JOB SUMMARY: The Machinist will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts for aircraft repair parts. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or various other projects, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The Machinist will report to the Back Shop Department. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Expertise to comprehend and acquire skills in the following: Knowledge of all aspects machining, fabricating of all types of metal parts using manual mills and lathes and characteristics of metals, safety procedures, operation of mills, lathes, drill press, horizontal and vertical saws, basic knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials, basic knowledge of ATA codes, basic knowledge of all applicable F.A.R.'s familiar with company policies and procedures, familiar with all paperwork procedures including job cards/ time cards, routine/ non-routine cards
