LABORATORY ASSISTANT II Laboratory Richmond, VA Department: ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY Requisition: ******BR Schedule: FT Shift: Day Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, No Weekends Existing Employees Here BON SECOURS RICHMOND RHS-SHARED SERVICES JOB DESCRIPTION To perform and review various complex clinical laboratory procedures in 1 or more sections of the Moderately Complex Laboratory without direct supervision. This employee also works with the Practice Manager or Administrator, and the Lab Medical Director to ensure compliance with CLIA and COLA regulations in order to maintain certification. This position also requires proficiency in specimen collection and to provide assistance with other laboratory duties. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. The position mandates a high-school certificate and education and training as a medical assistant or phlebotomist. 2. Yearly CPR required. 3. Accreditation as an MLT or CLT required, due to the complex nature of the studies performed. 4.
