At the direction of the Executive Director of the Joint Committee on Legislative Management, the Chief is responsible for planning, organizing and administrating the programs and policies of the State Capitol Police Department including, but not limited to, safety and security services, crime prevention, crowd control activities, and parking and traffic control. The State Capitol Police Department has been CALEA certified since 2003.
