Buyer / Planner - (Macon, GA)

This position is responsible to improve and manage suppliers globally to provide products at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, timing, and specification requirements. Responsibilities: Manages suppliers to provide products at the most favorable price Negotiates prices, discounts, rebates, and other needs for existing products and materials Manages and issues requests for quotations for existing business to ensure global price competitiveness Qualifies suppliers, issues purchases orders; follows up and expedites as necessary Manages supply base for assigned commodities and develops strategy in conjunction with the materials group to achieve lowest cost of ownership Establishes and maintains key performance indicators to perform supplier assessments as required.
