Underwriter III - (Bethlehem, PA)

Position ObjectiveThe Group Underwriter III is responsible for effectively managing a book of business in support of stated mission and key financial and performance measures. Responsible for underwriting functions for New Business, Renewal, and Add-Issue for groups over 500 lives for Group Life, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Accident, Hospital Indemnity and Critical Illness insurance.Major Opportunities and Decisions Responsible for an underwriting region which may include a number of complicated cases. Provides consultative services to sales producers, brokers, and/or customers regarding group insurance plans. Principal Accountabilities Provide pricing and plan design for cases with 500-5,000 lives utilizing prior claim background and manual rates. Recommend competitively priced products, funding arrangements, and services to meet customer qualifications Determine pricing of new business and/or renewal business, including alternate plan of benefit options
