Performs billing and follow-up processes for medical laboratory claims with all commercial insurances. Assists in keying and handling the manual billing of medical laboratory claims. Follows up verbally and in writing on claim status and patient eligibility with insurance companies or patients on accounts. Work to overturn and correct insurance/payer denials and any other impediments to claim processing and payment. Handles incoming correspondence and telephone calls from insurance companies, patients, laboratories and medical facilities. Meets and maintains a daily production target. Min of one year of Clinical laboratory Billing background. Strong verbal and written correspondence abilities. Background operating personal computers and Microsoft office suite applications. Hearing acuity, prolonged sitting, visual abilities and manual dexterity that allows the use of PCs for extended periods of time. Good customer service skills and expertise to represent the company in a professional manner.
