Youth Counselor - School Based - (Marion, IA)

The Youth Counselor is responsible for assisting in the engagement and development of children in a school based environment. The position will support the Linn March school system and focus on the development of youth activities while creating positive role-modeling for youth in areas of problem-solving and social skill development. Work Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday Responsibilities: * Assist with the supervision and encouragement of participants following program standards. * Assist in the development and implementation of program activities including program schedules and curriculum. * Recognize & effectively respond to opportunities for problem-solving with clients. * Develop positive & engaging opportunities between students & staff. * Provide frequent age- and skill-appropriate opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success during out of school time programming. * Carry out established roles in enforcing out of school time program safety regulations.
