Health information management technician - (Miami, FL)

The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has an exciting opportunity for a HIM Technician. Incumbent is responsible for the record maintenance of patient charts and /or films and ensures chart readiness for scheduled clinic dates. Receiving, documenting and processing requests from patients, other doctor's offices, insurance companies and legal firms. Also, responsible for the professional and efficient managing of visitors, consumers, telephone calls and messages, as well as a variety of administrative and clerical duties that support consumer services, details and referral and the operation and presentation of a professional office. Receives medical records of patients on a daily basis from all units. Checks loose report file for any dictation or reports that belong in files. Checks each medical record for completeness, marking and attaching a deficiency slip. Maintains deficiency slips and deficiency logs.
