Lead Mechanic - (Chicago, IL)

The lead mechanic ensures the camp generators, heavy and light equipment and passenger vehicles are maintained at a level appropriate for the seasonal tasks. CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Safety Identify and mitigate safety hazards Conduct daily tool box meetings with the mechanical team Assist with safety audits of project operations Contribute to and comply with on site safety programs Mechanical Design and implement a maintenance program for all vehicles, equipment and generators Manage the inventory of parts, fluids, filters and other consumables Source and procure parts and equipment, as directed by the Camp Manager Assist with the start-up and shutdown of the Bornite camp Perform diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on all vehicles, equipment and generators Inspect equipment to ensure all fluids, guards, and other components are operating properly and safely Assist contractors, when necessary, to ensure availability of their equipment Personnel
