Coder ii - (Chico, CA)

JOB DETAILS: The Coder II reviews and assigns diagnosis and procedure codes to both inpatient and outpatient charts. The Coder II works with Medical Staff to assure accurate documentation to support codes assigned. Codes are assigned using the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), and/or other classification systems that may be required. EDUCATION / TRAINING / BACKGROUND: Min: 1yr coding background Must pass coding test established by the Medical Record Department. Medical Terminology (must pass Enloe's medical terminology test) LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Min: Certification as recognized by the American Health Details Management Association (AHIMA): CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA. SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Must have knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a quick paced environment. Issue solving abilities are necessary to code accurately.
