Technical Specialist - (Chicago, IL)

Chicago office of our client, a Chambers ranked law firm, is actively seeking associates to join our Intellectual Property Group. The applicant will be serving a variety of duties related to patents and technology. Will be drafting new patent applications. Meeting or otherwise conferring with inventors and/or in-house counsel to identify new innovations, extracting info of inventions and technical advantages, and drafting patent claims and accompanying drawings and text to describe inventions. Reviewing and analyzing info of a patent application, analyzing and evaluating prior art references cited by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in rejections, drafting claim amendments to overcome cited rejections and drafting remarks and arguments in support of the clients positions. Legal research, drafting documents, and evaluating references or other patent documents.
