Job details The Shipboard Engineering Technician IV works on a team supporting cabling, equipment, and C5ISR system installations. The ETIV performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Installation experience should include the moving and un-crating of equipment, the installation of electronic equipment, ducts, cableways, cables, high density cable connectors, assembling cable harnesses, soldering with low voltage soldering devices, coaxial connectors, waveguide connectors, fiber connectors
