Overview : A family owned farming operation near Chico, CA, seeks a Foreman to join this well-established and successful enterprise. The farm consists of 640 acres of prunes, almonds, and pistachios. This entry level position will work together with the Ranch Manager, overseeing the operation and its 8-10 person crew. This individual must have a strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction from the Ranch Manager. Experience performing all aspects of the agriculture operation is necessary, such as irrigation, pruning, operating a sprayer, tractor, and harvester as well as mechanical and welding abilities. Assignments include : Assist in overseeing the operation, including planning and managing production and handling business administration. Supervise the planting, fertilizing, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting of crops. Maintain and monitor the quality of yield. Drive or operate farm machinery.
