Maine Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist (RN) # Perioperative Services in Portland. A primary goal of Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) practice is to support the provision of quality health care and patient safety within the practice environment through the interwoven role elements of educator, leader, facilitator, change agent, consultant, and researcher. Given the continuous evolution of health care policy, regulatory and accreditation standards, and changing roles in health care, the role of the NPDS must also evolve to meet requirements, demands, and expectations. In collaboration with nursing leadership and staff, the NPDS designs, implements, and evaluates the nursing strategic education plan. Through a high-level of competence, the NPDS must effectively and creatively address the learning needs of diverse groups in nursing within both practice and learning environments.
