Assistant childcare teacher - (Chicago, IL)

POSITION DESCRIPTION * Assists in the daily management and supervision of classroom and children, as directed by the classroom teacher, and provides lunch breaks and planning time for teachers while caring for a classroom of children, preparing them for school and for life. Assisting in teaching social skills, academics, life skills and much more, in a fun and loving atmosphere. * Hours would be 12:00 pm-6:00 pm Monday - Friday with option for additional hours in the morning as building substitute. KEY FUNCTIONS * Assists and supervises children during all activities. Counsels children when social, academic or adjustment problems arise. * Develops plans and prepares instructional aids and materials for classroom activities. * Ensures that appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of classroom are appropriately maintained, in accordance with the state regulated cleaning and sanitizing guidelines. * Assists children with meal times and clean-up.
