Summary Under the supervision of the Team Lead, the Set-Up/Programmer is to program, set-up and operate 3-, 4-, &-5 axis CNC mills to manufacture ultra-precision parts. This individual is responsible for the set-up of equipment and fixtures in the machining center to perform drilling, reaming, tapping, milling, boring, and other machining operations over a broad range of surfaces, diameters and depths and keep close tolerances according to blueprints/diagrams. Relies on background and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. May direct and lead the work of others. Assignments include: Read and interpret blueprint specifications to determine procedures and operations sequences. Perform all set-up conditions and make offset adjustments to operate machine tools with no supervision. Operate various tools and machine tools to make finish adjustments to parts. Identify and troubleshoot operating, material and tooling problems.
