Temporary Parking Enforcement Aide - (Homer, AK)

GENERAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for the enforcement of parking and traffic ordinances on the Homer Spit. Issues citations for specific code violations. Collects parking charges. JOB FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR ACTIVITIES 1. Responds to questions from the public regarding parking regulations. 2. Enforces parking and traffic violations and issues citations for violations. 3. Collects parking charges. 4. Assists with traffic control as assigned. 5. Performs other duties as assigned. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Two Years of background requiring public contact. Current drivers License. High-school diploma or GED required. Expertise to deal courteously and tactfully with the public. Requires well developed written and spoken communication abilities in maintaining effective relationships with the public and city staff. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
