Organization Overview Since its founding in 1931, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) has been dedicated to advancing the specialty of neurological surgery in order to provide the highest quality of neurosurgical care to the public. Funding to support the educational, research and advocacy missions of the organization has come from a variety of sources including major corporations, members' dues, Annual Meeting income, the Journal of Neurosurgery, managing medical outcomes databases, workshops and other products and services.
