Senior Underwriter - Dental - (Durham, NC)

POSITION DESCRIPTION Manage the relationships with our large fully insured and self-funded group customers who expect a high-level of service. Make significant financial decisions and communicate these decisions to customer benefit management staff and others. Expected to meet all Business Segment goals related to revenue, margin and membership. Perfect candidate will have background using dental claims data in a large group account setting. * Manage Books of Business with up to 150,000 members and representing up to $400,000,000 in premium or premium equivalent. * Apply data analytics across book of business to identify trends or patterns and take corrective action as required. * Has the authority to make limited exceptions to standard underwriting policy and make underwriting recommendations to underwriters and associate underwriters * Manage and report monthly and YTD on all assigned financial and performance metrics as well as develop and produce ad hoc reports.
