Position details Performs all welding and related fabrication processes on complex drawers, cabinets, subassemblies, precision guided systems and facilities projects. 1. Performs TIG and/or MIG welding on LGTR, drawers and cabinets in accordance with supplied instructions. 2. Sets up and maintains welding equipment. 3. Use fixtures or table set ups as necessary using clamps or angle plates to produce the correct shapes and dimensions. 4. Can work to tight tolerances. 5. Performs welding in the best sequence to minimize warpage and distortion. 6. May repair or rework parts to restore to required tolerances which have become distorted as a result of welding operations or other processes. 7. Works to and understand manufacturing instructions. 8. Knows the difference between basic metal groups such as steel, aluminum and stainless steel. 9. Proficient with various hand tools such as hammers, chisels, squares and straight edges.
