Position title: Assistant Grocery Manager (Job Code #001460) Department: Grocery Reports To: Grocery Manager PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to assist and learn the Grocery department plans and management responsibilities to promote sales and achieve profit margins and labor goals, in addition to providing a positive environment for our customers and associates. JOB ASSIGNMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assists customers during their shopping background * Greet, Offer, & Thank all customers * Prompt response to customer concerns * Expertise to perform duties of grocery and receiving clerks * Recording and reporting customer requests * Expertise to show customers where products are located Functional Requirement: * Physical: walking, bending, kneeling, able to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 50lbs., equipment operation (intercom, telephone, scanner, register, scale) * Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading
