City Rochester State Minnesota Telecommute No Department Pharmacy Job summary The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist performs the following duties to assigned sites across Mayo Midwest: accurately and efficiently procures and ensures an effective inventory of medications and supplies; assists with the management of medication shortages; processes medication recalls and the return of pharmaceuticals and/or their destruction; and performs the duties of a Pharmacy Purchasing Technician as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree (business, management, accounting or related position) and two years of pharmacy technician background; or two-year college diploma (healthcare of business preferred) and 4 yrs pharmacy technician background; or high-school diploma and 6yrs pharmacy technician background. Additional requirements Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English. Must be detailed-oriented; able to prioritize work and able to operate independently under general guidelines and procedures.
