Correctional Officers at North Central Correctional Complex have the opportunity to protect the public and promote positive social impact supervising at-risk populations. Skills acquired during training and the Correctional Officer background lay the groundwork for a rewarding career in corrections, law enforcement and many other socially impactful career choices. Correctional Officers perform a number of important duties including, but not limited to, searches, count, escort, transportation, rule enforcement and emergency response. Offenders are supervised by Correctional Officers in all phases of the work and program day, i.e. meals, recreation, work and programming. Correctional Officers are an important role model for offenders and are often called upon for intervention and/or de-escalation when offender behavior is inappropriate.Correctional Officers can become applicants for advanced training, becoming an instructor and/or special teams
