Python Developer - NOAA - (Princeton, NJ)

SAIC is recruiting for a Python Developer for our NOAA GFDL program. This individual will provide software development support for the Model Diagnostics Task Force (MDTF) analysis project to assist with the overall analysis workflow infrastructure at GFDL. This individual will be supporting climate code and algorithm transitions to new computing architectures and paradigms, in a structured team environment. The Python developer will also participate in various algorithm improvements and code optimization initiatives, as well as serving as a Model Support liaison between Scientists and the Modeling Services team for the purposes of scientific code development. This individual will be focused on:Transitioning development and maintenance of the MDTF software from NCAR to GFDLPerforming additional technical development of the MDTF softwareIntegrating code and diagnostics from external collaborators into the main MDTF code baseIntegrating the MDTF code into GFDL's modeling workflowMaintaining the MDTF software
