Milieu Therapist I - (Oil City, PA)

Description Purpose: The Milieu Therapist I performs igned tasks, and participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, in various aspects of patient care with an emphasis on therapeutic activities conducted with igned individuals and groups. This position will work either 2nd or 3rd shift. Responsibilities: Accompany patients to out-of-building activities and appointments. Attend a minimum of 2 unit based or Insute wide in-services yearly. Coordinate patient groups and activities. Demonstrate effective milieu management skills which promote positive patient experiences. Document in the Medical Record according to established policies. Encourage or ist patients to perform activities of daily living. Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups effectively. Manage crisis situations effectively using positive approaches. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Provide clinical interventions essed by client needs.
