Cardiac Sonographer - Iowa Heart Center - Ultrasound Ottumwa - PRN Position category: PRNScheduled Hours per 2 week Pay Period: 0Primary Location: IA > OTTUMWA > IHC OTTUMWA GENERALSUMMARY : Under supervision, performs echocardiograms orperipheral vascular testing according to established protocol for adult patientsof the Iowa Heart Center (IHC). CRITICAL FUNCTIONS : Maintains proficiency with all cardiac ultrasoundequipment and procedures performed at the IHC. Performs echocardiograms on Iowa Heart Center patientsaccording to established protocol. Administers IV contrast agents. Instructs and educates patient regarding the orderedtest and prepares the patient for the procedure. Maintains and completes all necessary paperwork andcharting for the business office and medicalrecords. Maintains equipment in designated testing areas. Assists in occasional dispensing of medications. Attends required meetings and participates oncommittees as requested.
