Admission Clerk - (Annapolis, MD)

Position Objective: The Admissions Clerk is responsible for ensuring verification of valid insurance for patients admitted from the Emergency Department and communicating insurance updates with both PFS and Care Management. This position will also be responsible for capturing required documentation and regulatory notices at the patient bedside. Working at the direction of the Patient Access Director and/or supervisor, this position will conduct manual audits and reporting of patient registration in order to ensure and improve accuracy and compliance in data collection Position reports directly to the Director of Patient Access. Essential Position duties: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the critical functions. 1) Greets patients being admitted/placed in observation by conducting personal interviews; confirming/entering demographic and insurance details; obtaining signatures on required documents.
