Procurement Specialist II - (Balcones Heights, TX)

PURPOSE The Procurement Specialist II is responsible for purchasing various materials, supplies, equipment, and/or services for The Center For Health Care Services (CHCS) programs. TASKS * Plans, administers and executes the procurement process to include verifying specifications, developing price schedules, coordinating with programs as necessary and finalizing invitation to bids, tabulate submissions and validate program recommendation. * Ensures the timely procurement of goods in accordance with CHCS procurement policies and all other applicable federal, state and local laws, policies and procedures. * Consults with program personnel on procurement needs, provides technical assistance for required goods. * Conducts product and vendor research for goods to determine market volatility, price trends, availability, alternative products and potential future problems or opportunities. * Reviews and approves purchase orders within delegated authority.
